
In the capital, Bishkek, competitions in Shotokan karate-do took place on February 21 and 22, with around 450 athletes from various clubs participating. This was reported by the city administration.
The competitions included two main karate disciplines:
- kata — a demonstration of technical skills, precision of movements, and inner concentration;
- kumite — sparring matches where athletes showcased their speed, accuracy, and tactical thinking.
The team standings showed the following results:
- 1st place — SKIF-Bishkek club (55 gold, 52 silver, and 58 bronze medals);
- 2nd place — STAR karate club (32 gold, 35 silver, and 24 bronze medals);
- 3rd place — Shito-ryu karate club (1 bronze medal).
