In Kara-Balta, at the sports complex "Manas," an open championship in grappling among schoolchildren took place.

About 100 young athletes from nine teams representing Bishkek, Kara-Balta, and Aleksandrovka participated in the tournament.

The students of the Jaiyl Children's and Youth Sports School demonstrated excellent results, trained by their new coach Syrgak Zhaparkulov. Twenty of his protégés participated in the competitions, and most of them ended up among the prize winners.

In the weight category up to 38 kg, Zakir Butobaev won, confidently conducting his matches. Silver medals were awarded to Erbol Zhaparkulov (up to 28 kg) and Almir Melisov (up to 45 kg). The bronze medalists were Nurkhan Kyzyrov and Ali Sayipzhanov (up to 34 kg), Abubakir Urustenbekov (up to 40 kg), Kadir Zuvurov (up to 58 kg), and Erbolot Absatarov (up to 73 kg).

The judging panel noted the excellent physical preparation of the team. All winners and prize winners received diplomas and commemorative medals.

The award ceremony for the students of jiu-jitsu coach Almaz Mambetov, one of the tournament organizers, was also held at a high level. His athletes showed consistent results in various categories.

Special attention during the awards ceremony was drawn to the new colored belts: athletes who took first places and those who received the fourth stripe were promoted in rank.

New gray belts were awarded to Nurel Omurbekov, Duishonalyy uulu Ramazan, Shamo Osmonov, Daniel Kerimbaev, and Rinat Ibraimov.

Ariet Zholdoshov and Elmirek Sadyrbekov received orange belts.

Almaz Mambetov noted that this championship became an important stage in preparation for larger competitions, including the republican jiu-jitsu tournament, for which four athletes qualified.
