270 kids aged from 5 to 16 years participated in the tournament from jiu-jitsu clubs in the Chui region, including Bishkek and the villages of Alexandrovka and Sadovoe, as well as the city of Kara-Balta.
Almaz Mambetov, the head coach of the "Manas" sports complex and the organizer of the tournament, noted that the main goal of the event is to unite sports clubs across the country for children and teenagers.
“We hold this open championship in Kara-Balta every year. The team goes to the sports clubs for weigh-ins, which we conduct transparently — we record it on video and send it to the coaches. The competitions have a festival format so that every participant can compete and receive their award. Based on the results of the tournament, winners and prize-winners will be awarded medals and diplomas,” he said.
