At a meeting held in China, the Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, and Zhang Xin, the head of Yunnan SCO Culture and Sports Co Ltd, who oversees the organization of the Kunming SCO Marathon, agreed on directions for further sports cooperation between the two countries.
During the discussions, special attention was given to organizing the international marathon Run the Silk Road, which is planned to be held in Bishkek, as well as preparations for the meeting of sports ministers within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The parties exchanged views on supporting seven regions of Kyrgyzstan and considered possible joint initiatives and projects aimed at developing regional cooperation, improving sports infrastructure, and deepening partnership ties.
As a result of the negotiations, readiness for further cooperation and coordination of actions in the specified areas was confirmed.
The meeting was held in a positive atmosphere, and both sides expressed interest in further developing Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports.
We remind you that the international marathon Run the Silk Road is scheduled for May 2, 2026, on the shores of Issyk-Kul, where participation from athletes and tourists from various countries is expected.
