From March 11 to April 27, the Universiade of the Kyrgyz Republic will take place in Bishkek, as reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports. It is expected that between 2,500 and 3,000 students from higher educational institutions of the country will participate in this sporting event.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for March 12 at 15:00 and will be held at the Gazprom Physical Culture and Health Sports Complex. Competitions will be organized in two leagues: the Higher League and the I League.
Participants will compete in 15 different sports, including:
- volleyball
- basketball
- futsal
- ordo
- toguz korgool
- chess
- athletics
- weightlifting
- wrestling (freestyle)
- wrestling (Greco-Roman)
- sambo
- judo
- boxing
- Kyrgyz kuresh
- table tennis
The competitions will conclude on April 27.
