In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the international marathon "Run the Silk Road - SCO" will be held on May 2 in Cholpon-Ata, located on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
According to information provided by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, around 3000 athletes from 20 countries are expected to participate in this significant sporting event.
Within the framework of the marathon, the following distances will be offered:
42.2 km - marathon;
21.1 km - half marathon;
10 km - running and Nordic walking;
3 km - mass run.
This event is not only sporting but also symbolizes the desire to strengthen international cooperation through sports.
