Bopo Karimova

Bopo Karimova is one of the active participants in the women's movement in southern Kyrgyzstan, a prominent state and public figure, a talented organizer, and an experienced leader. She is the author of several books.
— Life is so short, says Bopo Karimovna, that we should not waste it on fruitless divisions of people by clans and tribes, by nationality, religion, or regions. I have lived a considerable time in this world, says this wise woman who has lived a worthy life, and I have come to the conclusion that the most important things are justice, stability, peace on our land, love, and harmony in the home.
She was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR for four convocations. Her fruitful work and active public activities have been recognized with the Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, two Orders of the Badge of Honor, the Order of Manas III degree, many medals, and certificates of honor.
In 2000, she was awarded a special prize from the International Charitable Foundation "Meerim" - "Kutman Ene".
Despite her enormous workload and the heavy burden of responsibility in party and Soviet work, Bopo Karimova managed to raise and educate four sons into worthy individuals. She provided them all with a good education. Today, she is a caring and loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Even during her school years, Bopo stood out among her peers for her intelligence, ability to learn, and active attitude towards life. That is why she was sent to short-term teacher training courses while still a 9th-grade student.
While continuing her studies in the 9th grade, she already worked as a primary school teacher at her native school in the city of Uzgen. With the onset of the war, she completed the 10th grade externally. Two years later, she was appointed as the deputy director, and then the director of the school. In 1948, she graduated from the Osh Teacher's Institute through correspondence. She has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1944.
In 1951, Karimova was elected secretary of the Myrzaken District Committee of the Party, and after studying at the Higher Party School, she became the secretary of the Frunze District Committee of the Party. Since 1959, she has worked as the chairperson of the executive committees of the people's deputies of the Frunze and Suzak districts, and from 1974 to 1982, she served as the chairperson of the Mailisay City Executive Committee.
In 1982, she was granted a personal pension of republican significance. However, even as a pensioner, she continued to work until 1988 as the director of the Osh Trade Technical School.
During these years, B. Karimova continued her active public work and literary activities. In 1982, her book "Kurdashtar" ("Peers") was published, followed by "Turns of Life". In 1994-1995, her stories "Too perisi" ("Fairy of the Mountains"), "Zholugushuu" ("Meeting"), "Stalin jana Kulatov", "The Difficult Happiness of a Mother" and others were released.
Throughout her long years of work in party and Soviet bodies, Bopo Karimova met with outstanding personalities of the 20th century: N.S. Khrushchev, A.N. Kosygin, L.I. Brezhnev, I.R. Razzakov, S.I. Ibraimov, V.V. Tereshkova, and many others.
