At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science, Bolot Sagynaev proposed the creation of student dormitories in major cities of Kyrgyzstan with separate living arrangements for girls and boys.

The deputy noted that according to statistical data from 2025, there were 45,000 registered marriages in the country, of which 13,000 ended in divorce. He considers these figures alarming for society.

“In this regard, I propose that the Ministry of Science, together with the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, explore the possibility of creating student dormitories where girls and boys will live separately. Currently, rental prices in Bishkek reach 40,000-50,000 soms, which is an unbearable amount for many students. Many do not have the opportunity to find suitable housing. Student dormitories with the necessary infrastructure and separate accommodations can help reduce social risks and strengthen the institution of family in the future,” said Sagynaev.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev emphasized that one of the main problems remains providing students with housing, as the number of dormitories is limited while the demand for them is high.

He added that all government agencies are working on this issue, and the construction of student dormitories is a relevant and necessary measure.
