A working meeting initiated by Belarusian representatives was held in Bishkek in the format of a video conference. The main focus was on environmental issues, solid waste management, and the exchange of international experience in waste recycling, reports the press service of the city mayor's office.

The event was attended by Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliyev, the Ambassador of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Sergey Molunov, as well as the Minister of Housing and Communal Services Gennady Trubilo and the Minister of Natural Resources Sergey Maslyak.

Ramiz Aliyev spoke about current environmental projects in Bishkek, including cooperation with a Chinese company. An eco-technological plant was opened at the Bishkek sanitary landfill, which generates electricity from solid household waste. This facility has become the first of its kind in Central Asia, unmatched in the region.

During the meeting, plans for the implementation of sorting lines with the participation of the Belarusian side were also discussed. As part of the waste sorting program, a modern line was purchased that will allow for preliminary sorting before the waste arrives at the plant. This is expected to create opportunities for the production of urban improvement elements from recycled materials in the future.

In conclusion of the meeting, the deputy mayor invited Belarusian representatives to visit Bishkek to familiarize themselves with the operation of the eco-technological plant and to continue discussions on prospective cooperation on-site.
