In the village of Zhany-Zher in the Batken region, a project is being implemented that involves the construction of a new irrigation system and the development of intensive horticulture over an area of 200 hectares.

According to the regional administration, the presidential representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Batken region, Aibek Shamenov, has familiarized himself with the progress of the project.

According to the plans, modern fruit orchards will be created using water-saving technologies. Currently, a water storage reservoir capable of holding 25,000 cubic meters is under construction, which will ensure reliable water supply throughout the irrigation season.

The total funding for the project amounts to 54 million soms, allocated from the republican budget, with additional funds from the local budget. Local farmers also intend to invest their own resources into the development of horticulture, including the purchase of agricultural machinery and planting materials.

To successfully manage the project, a cooperative will be established to ensure the operation of the irrigation system and coordinate the work of farmers.

As part of this project, the planting of modern high-yield semi-dwarf varieties of apricot is planned, which will allow for earlier harvests, increased productivity, and a significant reduction in water consumption.

The implementation of the project aims to develop horticulture, create new jobs, increase the income of the population, and ensure the sustainable use of water resources in the Batken region.
