Putin mentioned that this year, the economies of the EAEU countries are showing a confident positive trend. According to him, the total volume of agricultural production has increased by more than 2%, retail trade by 3%, and construction by 4.7%.
He also pointed out that Russia's non-energy exports to EAEU countries have risen by almost 20%, reaching $32 billion. Thanks to trade agreements between the EAEU and other countries, the union has gained access to a market with 730 million consumers. Putin added that work is underway to conclude a preferential agreement with India.
The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council gathers representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan in St. Petersburg.
