In September, Energy Minister Talai Bek Ibraev warned that the upcoming winter would be the most challenging for the country.
In this regard, active measures for energy conservation began in the republic.
By mid-November 2025, the following restrictions were introduced in the country:
- The use of outdoor lighting in government and administrative institutions during evening hours is prohibited;
- Electricity consumption in schools is limited after 6:00 PM;
- A new power limit for households has been introduced - up to 3 kW, forcing residents to choose between using a washing machine and an electric kettle;
- The operation of mining farms is prohibited until the end of March 2026;
- The Bishkek city hall reported that in cafes, restaurants, and nightclubs, all electrical devices, including heaters and stoves, must be turned off after 10:00 PM, although this requirement was later somewhat softened;
- The president instructed to minimize the volume of electricity imports.
