According to him, at the end of December, Russian oil refineries traditionally offer seasonal discounts on fuel.
“This year, wholesale prices for fuel and lubricants slightly decreased at the end of December. As a result, some companies signed contracts and purchased certain volumes of fuel. These batches have already arrived in Kyrgyzstan, leading to a price reduction at some gas stations by 1 som, and in some cases even more,” Eshatov noted.
He also added that new prices will be established in the coming days, and it is currently difficult to predict the further movement of fuel prices in the country.
“Oil refineries in Russia have resumed their operations. Based on the wholesale prices they will offer, it will become clear how the cost of fuel will be formed. Retail prices in Kyrgyzstan will be set based on this,” explained the association representative.
