The damage from the mudflows exceeded 55 million soms, yet assistance has not been provided.
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Jumabekov urged the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, to take personal control of the situation regarding assistance to farmers from the Aitmatov district of the Talas region who were affected by the natural disaster.
As Jumabekov noted, on July 28, 2025, mudflows struck the Shekersky ayil okmotu, destroying crops in the settlements of Sheker, Kok-Sai, Kainar, and Archagul. As a result, more than 700 hectares of agricultural land planted with beans and wheat were completely washed away.
The civil protection commission, which worked after the emergency, prepared a report estimating the damage at 55 million soms and recognized it as a natural disaster. Nevertheless, as the deputy emphasized, this document has still not been executed, and farmers have not received any support from the government.
Furthermore, Jumabekov noted that many affected farmers lease land from the state fund on a competitive basis and continue to pay high rent despite the complete destruction of their crops. He pointed out that the residents of the ayil okmotu remain unaware of how to cope with the current situation and continue to wait for assistance from the authorities.
