Over 300 thousand Kyrgyz citizens have a negative credit history

During the discussion, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev asked about the number of citizens with a credit history in Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Medet Tairov, reported that about 1.5 million people are registered in the database of the credit information bureau.

According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova, the total number of citizens with a credit history is 1 million 517 thousand, of which 302 thousand 355 people have negative records.

Tairov explained that a credit history is considered negative if a client fails to meet their obligations for 90 days.

Bekeshev also noted the problem of fraud, where citizens become victims of criminals who take out loans in their name.

“There are cases where fraudsters take loans in someone else's name, leading to delinquencies for the legitimate owners. Is there a possibility of writing off such loans to clear their credit history? Perhaps this issue should be considered for the next reading?” - suggested the deputy.

In response, Tairov noted that in such situations, with a court decision, the bank can send a letter to the credit bureau requesting the exclusion of that person from the list.
