A meeting of the Basin Council was held in Naryn

A regular meeting of the Basin Council was held in Naryn, as reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. Participants of the meeting discussed issues related to water resource management with an emphasis on the basin principle, which is outlined in the Water Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. This approach implies managing water resources not by administrative boundaries but within a single river system, which facilitates more effective interregional coordination.

During the meeting, topics concerning the use, protection, and development of water resources in the Naryn River basin were also addressed, as well as the impact of climate change on the local population and the region's economy.

It should be noted that the Basin Council includes representatives from government bodies, local self-governments, and public organizations, making it an important platform for coordinating water policy. Effective management of water resources is a fundamental condition for the sustainable development of the country.
