Why neighboring markets choose Kyrgyz meat, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture

In Kyrgyzstan, it has not only been possible to fully satisfy the domestic demand for beef and lamb, but there is also a prospect of achieving a sustainable surplus. This was reported by Uran Chekirbaev, head of the food security department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the program "Elden Sobol" on the news agency "Kabar".

He emphasized that the main competitive advantage of meat from Kyrgyzstan is its ecological purity.

“High-quality meat is produced thanks to traditional grazing in high-altitude pastures, which creates stable demand from neighboring countries and allows us to capture a significant share of their markets,” Chekirbaev added.

According to his unofficial data, up to 50% of the meat available in Uzbek markets has Kyrgyz origins. “In this regard, the Uzbek side shows significant interest in lifting restrictions on the import of live cattle,” he noted.
