The overall level of electricity losses in networks is decreasing – Ministry of Energy

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of Kyrgyzstan's role in the Central Asian energy ring.

He noted that the possibility of the country exiting this energy ring had been discussed earlier.

Deputy Minister of Energy Nasipbek Kerimov confirmed that the energy ring continues its operations, and currently, the question of exiting it is not on the agenda.

“We previously talked about exiting when our own internal networks were created, but now this issue is not relevant,” he added.

Additionally, Bekeshev inquired about plans for modernizing the energy system in the Jalal-Abad region.

Kerimov reported that the modernization will affect two substations with a voltage of 220 kV: “Kristall” and “Torobay.”

In response to a question about mutual electricity supplies, he noted that at the moment Kyrgyzstan is purchasing electricity from Uzbekistan to reduce the load on its networks.

He also reported on technical losses in the energy system. According to his data, losses on lines with voltages of 35–500 kV amount to up to 5%, while on networks of 0.4–35 kV, they are about 10%. Nevertheless, compared to previous years, these figures have decreased due to the implementation of SIP cables and “smart” meters.
