The head of the oversight department for exchange offices of the National Bank, Ravshanbek Murzaliev, reported on actions aimed at combating unlicensed activities in the currency market. Following inspections conducted last year, 178 exchange offices operating without the National Bank's permission were identified in the country. In response to these violations, appropriate measures were taken, including the imposition of fines.
The National Bank emphasized that exchange offices can only conduct their activities with cash currency from foreign states. Any other operations are illegal.
The regulator also strongly recommends that citizens exchange currency exclusively at licensed points that operate openly and strictly adhere to the requirements of the National Bank.
