According to information provided by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, simultaneous modernization of two hydro units is currently taking place at the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station, which is a subsidiary of OJSC "Electric Stations."

It is reported that the dismantling of the second hydro unit is almost complete (90%), and specialists have already begun work on the first unit. Complete removal of outdated equipment and installation of a new hydro unit is planned in the near future.

The power station consists of four units, each with a capacity of about 45 MW, which together generate over 800 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. "After the modernization is completed, the capacity of the hydro unit will increase from 180 MW to 216 MW, and the annual electricity generation will exceed 984 million kilowatt-hours," the ministry clarifies. The reconstruction of the hydro units at the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
