Model and designer Marina Klyug!
Many of us have already noticed the absence of the girl at bright events in the capital, so we decided to track her down and find out the reason for her disappearance. As it turned out, the master of her craft and extraordinary beauty is currently working in the UAE, and we managed to contact her by asking a few questions.
- When did you first have the desire to create something?
- When I was still a school student. That was when I first had the desire to create something with my own hands. I started my journey with basic classes in embroidery, knitting, cutting, and sewing. I sewed for dolls, wove various bags, belts from beads, phone cases, and jewelry that were commercially successful at the time; I sold them for retail. My first earnings of 100 soms came from a knitted top. At that time, having even a small amount of honestly earned money at the age of fourteen was an achievement and a great joy for me. I loved attending all the mentioned courses, rejoicing in new colors, paper, and beads. Gradually, getting to know new people in this whirlwind of communication, I learned about education and educational institutions in our city. By that time, the moment to transition to the eleventh grade was approaching, and it was time to think and decide on a place of study. I dreamed of studying in Moscow after hearing stories from a wonderful dreamer, my first teacher at the university. But I understood that I had no means to pay for my education and didn't even ask my parents about the possibility of enrolling in a Moscow university; I tried to save money in a box under my bed, but nothing came of it. After hearing wonderful reviews from older students about KRSU and specifically the Department of HP, I immediately went there and stayed for six years, including preparatory courses, and I even forgot about my previous desire to study in Russia. I believe that the Department of "Artistic Design of Products" at the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Construction at KRSU is the best place in Bishkek to receive an education in the field of clothing design. And it was this department and the people working there that gave me the opportunity to visit many cities in Russia, participate in competitions, meet interesting people, and receive numerous diplomas.
- How did you end up on the runway?
- Interestingly, I never attended modeling schools. But I was very interested in the world of the modeling industry. I met all the parameters required for selecting girls with a model appearance for beauty contests and passed all the castings. Initially, I participated in local contests, winning the hearts of the jury and the audience. The organizers noticed me and offered to participate in international-class contests. It was an unexpected offer for me, but I decided to participate in them.
- You work in knitting? What attracts you to it, as it is a very labor-intensive activity?
- Yes, I love knitting, but not all my work is exclusively in this technique. In some of them, knitting was a way to bring my idea to life, but I'm also not against fiddling with a hook and yarn.
- The headwear you create is very original; why do you think such hats suit girls more?
- I started working on hats a couple of years ago and focused on consumer tastes, not making them too extravagant, except in special cases on order, since most buyers are more conservative and practical in their choice of headwear. I focused on interesting but not overloaded design and quality of execution. And there are many types of headwear each season, ranging from synthetic ones with various weavings to natural fur. It all depends on the shape, color, and quality. Observing the shows of world fashion houses, I can say that we are close to the peak popularity of hats adorned with original decorations on their simple shape and made in non-flamboyant colors.
- What can a beautiful and talented girl dream of?
- I dream of happiness and health for my loved ones, of traveling, and of a bicycle. Now I find free time to engage in sports, go swimming on weekends, read books, and simply photograph the surrounding world with my eyes. My eyes are my best camera and memory card. I have come to love cooking and experimenting with food. I plan to love a lot and travel, wanting to see as many interesting places as possible and meet as many people of various nationalities and faiths as I can.
