Forward, Baybars!

Recently, matches were held in Qatar as part of the qualifying round for the 2016 AFC Asian Cup. The youth national team of Kyrgyzstan also participated in these games. The players on the field were no older than nineteen years. The footballers played three challenging matches against the national teams of Lebanon (1:4), Oman (1:4), and Qatar (1:7). Despite all three losses, the guys demonstrated good play and fought until the final whistle. Of course, the defeat of the national team disappointed Kyrgyz fans and the sports community, but on the field, we were able to notice some talented footballers, such as Beibars Abdrakhmanov, who will become real football stars in a few years.

Go ahead, Beibars!

Today, we would like to talk about a young athlete who has truly captivated the fans. To find out more about the player, we turned to his coach, Honored Coach of the KR, Zagid Valiev, who gladly shared his thoughts about his protégé.

- Beibars turned out to be the youngest player in the national youth team. What qualities do you think allowed him to play with a team of players three years older and impress all football fans?

- First of all, it’s talent, hard work, and a huge desire to play. And this player possesses all three qualities. At one time, I thought he would play as a winger, but now he plays as a defensive and central midfielder. It’s worth noting that he started playing football relatively late; his peers had already been playing for about three years. Beibars first stepped onto the field in the sixth grade, but he quickly began to catch up with the others because he had a burning desire to learn. He practically knew nothing, but within a year, he started to catch up in technique and even surpass the others. I noticed him right away, as talent is visible from afar.

- There is an opinion that talent is not important in football; what matters is hard training, and any boy can become a good player...

- No, I do not agree with that opinion. In reality, not everyone is given that. One cannot achieve results solely through training and physical preparation. Some are meant to play football, and some are not. But hard work is essential; you cannot do without it.

- Which team does Beibars play for in the championship?

- He plays for the First League team "Dordoi-2". And I am confident that in a few years, he should make it to the main squad of the "Dordoi" team and play in the Premier League. He was born at the end of 1999, which means he is not yet 16, and he has already achieved such success, even among 19-year-old players. Now it all depends on him. He is a very goal-oriented player, already holds the title of Candidate for Master of Sports, and has excellent physical condition. I have been working with him for five years, developing him in all aspects, providing more technical training, but there is still much to work on. He should play at a good level. Perhaps he will continue his career at a foreign club.

- What is Beibars like on the field?

- He is quite well-equipped physically, but he needs to work on his technique. I was very pleased when he was invited to the youth national team, and my main advice before he left was to watch the game closely and not be afraid. I think that after he played for the national team, his attitude towards football fundamentally changed. His eyes began to shine even more because he had very strong motivation since he was playing at an older age. At first, he didn’t even make it to the squad; in the second game, he played in the second half, and in the third game, he was in the starting lineup.

Beibars Abdrakhmanov also shared his impressions of playing for the national team.

- My friend Eldar Dzhumagulov brought me to the field; he had been training for a long time and invited me to come to coach Zagid Valiev. Under his guidance, I have been training for five years.

- How did you manage to master this complex sport so quickly?

- Before that, I was into wrestling, so I had physical preparation. When I came to the field, I noticed that my peers played at a much higher level than I did, and I struggled with many exercises. But gradually, I began to gain experience. The coach believed in me and started to improve my physical qualities; we even trained separately. Over the five years, I have been perfecting my skills.

- Where does your love for football come from?

- I have always had a desire to play football, and it has made me very athletic.

- What did you feel when you were invited to the national team?

- At first, I went to the tryouts to see my level and check myself, but I impressed the coaching staff. Yes, we lost the games, but the teams were very strong. We played as best as we could; next time will definitely be better. Of course, we let the coach down; it was very awkward. But I managed to show my level and benefit the team. The atmosphere during the training camps is completely different when you are fully immersed in football. Here, you are distracted by studies. Currently, I study at school No. 73 in the tenth grade, and I am very interested in languages and programming. I might pursue a degree in this field. By the way, my father is a programmer. I am the oldest; I also have three younger sisters. Now I have a huge desire to play football because I gained experience with the national team, saw how teams train and how they relate to football. The most challenging game was against Oman because we played with only nine players.

- How did the older players accept you?

- At first, they called me the youngest, but then they began to see me as an equal since I showed my level. I was already called up to the national team, but I was two years younger, although I didn’t step onto the field, still.

- What goals do you set for yourself?

- First of all, I will train; I really want to play for the national team. I always admire the play of our footballers Azamat Baymatov and Valery Kichin. We flew in at night, and I immediately went to the game against Tajikistan to cheer for our team. During the game, I constantly imagined myself in their place, thinking about what I would do at that moment.

- Many people say that you have a real football talent; do you feel it?

- That’s a tough question, but I am working in that direction to become a well-known footballer.

We wish Beibars many victories on the field! And when a player has such a desire to play and such perseverance, we will surely see him in the National Team in the coming years!
