Today, we decided to meet with the wonderful master Victoria Desh and ask her to reveal a few secrets of original packaging for our readers, as well as to talk about how to give a miracle.
- Victoria, it is said that you were the first master to dare to pour aromatic decorative candles at home?
- Yes, that's correct. I really enjoy creating in this direction, but it is a very labor-intensive process. It takes about 24 hours to make a candle. In my home workshop, I have a container for five pieces, and sometimes I even had to stay up all night to prepare the gifts, as all my acquaintances were eagerly waiting for them. Moreover, the ingredients, fragrances, and molds need to be ordered from abroad, as everything is available for soap makers in the capital, but nothing can be bought for candle making. Due to certain circumstances, I have temporarily suspended my activities in this area, but I will definitely resume the process in the near future. I made candles in coconut shells, decorated them with rowan twigs, peppers, and orange slices. Now I really want to try my hand at a different field, something new for our capital.
- Victoria, in which fields are you currently creating?
- Recently, more and more men in Kyrgyzstan have started following European fashion and wearing beards. For the first time in our republic, I began making cosmetics for such fashionable guys at home, specifically wax and various oils. At the same time, I am making progress in textile painting, meaning I hand-paint t-shirts with special paints. In short, I work in handmade and want to gain knowledge everywhere.
- Many masters say that talent can awaken unexpectedly...
- In fact, I grew up in the field of handicrafts, as my mother is a true artisan. Unfortunately, I couldn't sew or draw. But I always believed that making something with your own hands is necessary - it brings immense pleasure. Indeed, it happened quite suddenly. On one Russian portal, I saw that it was possible to make poured candles by hand, I found recipes and tried to make candles myself. Everyone was simply thrilled with the results. Thus, an ordinary article contributed to my advancement in this field. To this day, I have not seen anyone following my lead in making such decorative candles at home.
Once, my husband became eager to buy a t-shirt with the name of his favorite band, I found special paints and fulfilled his request, and then dozens of t-shirts appeared. Thanks to my husband, I also have a new hobby - cosmetics for bearded men. Some people are born with this talent, while others, like me, know how to apply it but currently lack skills, so I am learning and finding a compromise within my soul.
- You are an active participant in New Year fairs, the candles you produce are indeed incredibly original. What would you advise our residents in decorating their homes? What gifts should be given to make an impression?
- Right now, like everyone else, we are thinking about what style we will decorate our home in. First of all, it is important to focus on the details. The Christmas tree should also be unusual; it can be made by oneself. For this, you need to take a poster board and roll it into a cone shape, then wrap it with beautiful thick green wool threads or twine. The cone should be given a green color, and then decorated with beads, twigs, or beads. You can also add the scent of fir and pine using aromatic oils. This year, I plan to make a tree from branches soaked in oil and decorate them with balls. But we will make these ornaments in the following way. We will inflate small balloons, wrap them with threads, dip them in glue, and as soon as it dries, we will pop the balloon, and the threads will take on an original shape, which looks very beautiful.
Gifts should also be presented in original packaging. I would like to advise residents not to wrap gifts in central stores, where presents will be wrapped in bright paper and tape, but to do everything by hand. Go down to the underpass, buy the most ordinary kraft paper on which you can apply interesting designs. Potatoes are great for printing, as they absorb paint well; cut out a Christmas tree or some symbol or initial, dip it in ink, and stamp it on the paper. The packaging will become beautiful and original. Then, to complete the process, you should attach a cinnamon stick or a sprig of fir, a feather, or a dried orange slice. For this, you need to cut the orange, lay it on a baking sheet in the oven for two hours, and the scent will be preserved, and it will not spoil for a long time. Believe me, it looks excellent. Instead of a ribbon, use the most ordinary twine. A gift is always pleasant for the soul, no matter what it is, and if it is beautifully wrapped, it will make an impression. A special miracle is born when children, parents, and husbands help you with this. Then magic comes into the home. All these items will later lift your spirits.
I have always advised and will continue to advise making gifts by hand; firstly, it develops thinking, and it is very engaging. You will feel a surge of energy, a flow of optimism, and completely new emotions. Of course, it won't work out right away, but then you will definitely praise yourself.
- You can create a miracle with your own hands, but what does the enchantress dream of?
- I dream of creating my own showroom, where there will be incredibly original items made from environmentally friendly materials. I will also be happy to share my experience with everyone; there will be a magical atmosphere there.
