In October, the average interest rate on foreign currency loans fell to a 4-year low

- In October 2025, the weighted average interest rate on foreign currency loans in commercial banks reached its lowest level in the last four years, according to information from the NBKR.

Currently, the rate stands at 5.98%. The last time such a low level was observed was in December 2021, when the rate was 5.23%.

This event marks only the second instance since the start of banking loan statistics in 1996 when the interest rate on foreign currency loans fell below the 6.00% mark.

In total, approximately $98 million was issued in the form of foreign currency loans in October.
