According to the agency's data, the main factor leading to the accidents was the use of summer tires on vehicles. In this regard, road inspectors strongly recommend that drivers replace their tires with winter ones.
“On January 22, snow fell in the region, leading to the formation of slippery road surfaces. In just one night, inspectors recorded four traffic accidents, in which seven people were injured. We urge drivers: take care of your safety — change your tires and, if not necessary, avoid long trips,” the message emphasizes.
In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of possible snowfall from January 21 to 24, which could lead to avalanches, the formation of snow drifts, as well as ice and freezing conditions on roads in the mountainous areas of the country.
