On January 29, a seminar was held in Bishkek organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan. The event was part of a project aimed at "Assessing and Improving the Institutional Structure in School Nutrition."

Among the seminar participants were representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, as well as experts from the United Nations World Food Programme.

During the seminar, the focus was on integrating school farms into the educational process, as well as using them for practical training and developing environmentally sustainable living skills among students.

The project also includes a comprehensive analysis of the existing regulatory framework regarding school nutrition. Sanitary and hygienic standards are being updated to meet modern requirements, and recommendations for proper nutrition in schools are being developed based on current scientific research and traditional products of Kyrgyzstan.

Additionally, demonstration sites and school gardens are being created in pilot educational institutions, allowing students and teachers to apply modern agronomic technologies, grow plants, and share innovative experiences.

Earlier, on January 23, the Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva met with FAO representatives, emphasizing the importance of practice-oriented learning, including the creation of gardens and school farms.

As a result of the seminar, participants highlighted the significance of experience exchange and the need to continue practical cooperation in the development of school farms.
