The Jogorku Kenesh adopted a new edition of the law on breeding in livestock of Kyrgyzstan in the second reading

Today, February 4, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies discussed in the second reading the draft law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Breeding in Livestock."

The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, presented information about this draft law. He noted that the aim of the initiative is to improve the legislative norms concerning breeding. Due to the necessity of making more than 50% changes to the existing law "On Breeding in Livestock of the Kyrgyz Republic," a new edition was initiated.

The draft law contains the main requirements for the export and import of breeding products and materials. During the discussion, deputies raised several important issues. Saltanat Amanova emphasized the need to increase lending to farmers to boost livestock numbers and increase the production of livestock products. Chyngyz Ajibayev highlighted the importance of comprehensive measures to combat livestock smuggling in the Batken region. Additionally, Meder Chotonov expressed concern about the low purchase price for raw milk, which annually threatens the profitability of farms.

As a result of the discussion, the draft law was approved in the second reading.
