One of the significant improvements in this feature is the Expressive Speech technology, which allows not only for the reproduction of words but also conveys the intonation, pace, and emotional tone of the original speech, making the dubbing more natural.
The feature is already actively used for English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish languages. In addition to this, YouTube is testing automatic lip-syncing of the speaker with the dubbed speech to ensure that the visual part matches the audio recording.
The platform also takes into account the possible concerns of both content creators and viewers. Users can revert to the original audio track, and creators have the option to disable automatic dubbing or upload their professional voiceover.
