As reported by the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Department, on January 13, 2026, operational information was received at the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul district regarding some residents of the district illegally storing firearms.
This fact was registered in the Unified Register of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul district. A criminal case was initiated based on Article 267 (“Illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition”) of the Criminal Code.
Employees of the district internal affairs department, during the preventive operation codenamed "Arsenal," conducted a series of urgent searches at the residences of the suspected individuals.
At the residence of citizen Z.S., born in 1994, living in the village of Chon-Oruktu, a smoothbore double-barreled shotgun of 16-gauge was discovered and seized as material evidence of illegal storage.
At the residence of citizen I.Zh., born in 1971, in the village of Kozhoyar, two packets containing a substance with a specific smell of cannabis were found. The substance was seized and sent for forensic chemical examination.
According to the experts' conclusion, the seized substance is a concentrate of cannabis straw (marijuana).
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing.
