From February 12 to 20, 2026, an operation called "Arsenal" is taking place in the Talas region, organized in accordance with the directive of the regional Internal Affairs Department.

According to information from the press service of the Internal Affairs Department, as part of this operation, officers from the Bakai-Ata district are conducting checks on firearm owners to ensure compliance with storage regulations.

As a result of the raids, local residents handed over 8 units of firearms to the police, including 7 gas-traumatic pistols and 1 smoothbore firearm.

Following the inspections, 4 administrative protocols were drawn up against owners who did not comply with storage rules.

Law enforcement officials emphasize that the main goal of the "Arsenal" operation is to prevent crimes involving firearms and combat illegal trafficking. "It is important for owners to adhere to storage rules: firearms must be kept in secure safes, inaccessible to outsiders. Violating these requirements may lead to administrative liability and revocation of permits," the district police department noted.

Preventive measures in the region will continue until February 20.
