The Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh held a meeting where the candidacy of Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov for the position of head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) was approved.
Bektur Zulpiyev, the authorized representative of the president and government of Kyrgyzstan in the Jogorku Kenesh, presented the candidate's resume.
“Jumgalbek Kumaroovich Shabdanbekov was born in 1970 in the village of Chayek, located in the Jumgal district of Naryn region. He received higher education in 1991, graduating from the Faculty of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn. Since 2022, he has held the rank of Major General. Shabdanbekov began his career at the Talas Tax Inspection as a senior inspector, and from 1994 to the present, he has held various responsible positions in the GKNB, State Guard Service, Anti-Terrorism Center, counterintelligence, and other structures, including leading the 9th service,” he added.
