According to Masaliev, the current moment requires serious reforms. He proposed to limit the functions of the GKNB, focusing them on narrow-profile tasks. The question of transferring anti-corruption powers, whether through the creation of a new body or strengthening the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office, remains at the discretion of the country's president.
The politician noted that the leadership of the GKNB has undergone changes, and some employees are now under arrest. Deputy Prime Minister Baisalov also mentioned the increase in the number of offenses, which is causing growing discontent among the population.
Masaliev suggested creating a special interdepartmental commission by presidential decree to investigate all high-profile criminal cases of recent years.
"It is necessary to review all high-profile criminal cases from the last five years. It would be advisable for the president to establish an interdepartmental commission to study many of these cases," he added.
Although the politician realizes that the results of such reviews may be unpredictable, he emphasizes the importance of this step for the future of the country:
"The results may surprise, however, this step is vitally necessary for both the people and the president."
