A telephone conversation took place between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan

Today, February 17, a phone conversation initiated by Kazakhstan took place between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, the leaders discussed key issues concerning bilateral relations, including the implementation of previously reached agreements in the areas of trade, transport, industrial cooperation, as well as in the field of energy and water resources.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed Sadyr Japarov about the constitutional changes being carried out in Kazakhstan, which lay the groundwork for the future progress of the country. Sadyr Japarov, in turn, expressed support for these large-scale reforms, including the establishment of a unicameral parliament, and wished success in the upcoming nationwide referendum.

Both sides emphasized the importance of resolving existing issues in an atmosphere of trust and traditional friendship, which creates a reliable foundation for further development of multilateral cooperation.

In addition, the presidents exchanged views on domestic policy issues, regional and international agendas, and discussed a plan for joint activities in a multilateral format.
