On December 11, Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, arrived in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, at the invitation of the local leadership.
The plane carrying the head of state landed at the international airport, where he was welcomed with honors.
Flags of the countries participating in the upcoming forum were raised at the airport, a red carpet was laid out, and a guard of honor was formed.
Immediately after landing, a young man and woman in traditional costumes presented flowers, as well as bread and salt to the president as a sign of welcome.
At the meeting, President Japarov was greeted by Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, as well as other high-ranking officials.
At the airport, there was an exchange of greetings between the presidents, where Berdymukhamedov warmly recalled his visit to Issyk-Kul this year, emphasizing the friendly relations between the countries.
They discussed the prospects for further cooperation and expressed readiness for active interaction both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
During the visit, President Japarov plans to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust (2025), as well as the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the International Neutrality Day.
