At a recent meeting, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh unanimously supported the candidacy of Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov for the position of head of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
According to Bektur Zulpiev, representing the president and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in parliament, Jumgalbek Kumaroich Shabdanbekov was born in 1970 in Chayek, located in the Jumgal district of the Naryn region. He received his higher education in 1991, graduating from the Faculty of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, and has held the rank of Major General since 2022. He began his career at the Talas Tax Inspection Office, where he worked as a senior inspector. Since 1994 and up to the present, Shabdanbekov has held various responsible positions in such structures as the SCNS, the State Guard Service, the Anti-Terrorism Center, Counterintelligence, and the R-Management, and he also headed the 9th Service.
