The preliminary causes of death of the 17-year-old teenager on the railway tracks connecting Kara-Balta and Kainy have been named.

According to information from the state enterprise "NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," the incident occurred on February 23, 2026, at 14:10 on the 3718 km stretch of the Kara-Balta–Kainy line. The train driver was forced to apply emergency braking when he noticed a person on the tracks.

According to data received from the authorities, the 17-year-old boy named S.R., born in 2009, was crossing the railway track, ignoring the working signals. At the crossing, the signals were functioning properly, and motorists along with pedestrians stopped, adhering to the established safety measures. "Despite the actions taken by the driver, a collision could not be avoided. The victim was taken to a medical facility, where, unfortunately, he passed away. It is worth noting that the braking distance of the train is quite long due to its mass and technical characteristics, so it is impossible to stop the train instantly. Railway tracks should only be crossed at designated places, and safety rules must be strictly followed to avoid being in the train movement zone," reported "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu."
