- The EEC Council approved changes to the rules concerning the circulation of veterinary medicinal products on the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

1) The transitional period has been extended until December 31, 2030, which will allow veterinary medicines registered under the rules of the EAEU countries to circulate freely throughout the Union.

During this period, there is also the possibility of registering medicines under national laws, which grants the right to use them within individual EAEU states.

2) A provision has been established for veterinary medicines registered in member states before the new EAEU rules come into effect to enter the Union market.

In this case, it is necessary: for the registration (re-registration) or changes in the registration dossier of these products to be confirmed after the new rules come into effect, but before the end of the transitional period.

3) A norm has been introduced for the mutual recognition of documents that confirm the compliance of veterinary medicine production with the requirements of the EAEU good manufacturing practice rules, if they are issued by the competent authorities of EAEU countries.

Condition: the documents must be issued in accordance with the legislation concerning production facilities located in third countries, before the new Union rules come into force.

4) During the transitional period, the EEC will be able to form and update the list of reference veterinary medicinal products as necessary.
