Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 1200 Kyrgyz citizens in the UAE have requested evacuation due to the conflict in the Middle East

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almaz Imangaziev provided information about the situation of Kyrgyz citizens in Middle Eastern countries.

He noted that the conflict has affected countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar.

As a result, the airspace of these states has been closed, and Turkey and Oman have also imposed partial restrictions.

Currently, about 20,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in these countries. The situation is most tense in the UAE, where approximately 10,000 Kyrgyz citizens reside. Of these, 1200 people have already requested assistance for evacuation, while the others are residents and continue their work activities.

“By the president's directive, several flights will be organized through Oman on the night of March 5. Two planes will arrive. Consular staff are working on compiling lists and ensuring transportation for citizens to the departure point. The evacuation of 360 people is planned first, including women, children, and the elderly,” he added.
