A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, where Minister Damir Osmonov led the discussion on the analysis of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service's work for 2025 and its further development.

The main report was presented by Zhyldyz Derkembaeva, the chief freelance specialist in anesthesiology and resuscitation, a candidate of medical sciences, and an associate professor. She outlined the key performance indicators of the service, including staffing levels, the equipment status of medical institutions, and the main challenges faced by specialists.

According to the provided data, there are 538 anesthesiologists-resuscitators and 1,161 nurses in the country. The institutions have 733 beds in anesthesiology, resuscitation, and intensive care units. In 2025, more than 105,000 anesthesias were performed, and 95,733 patients were treated in resuscitation departments.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that the anesthesiology and resuscitation service plays a crucial role in the healthcare system, ensuring the operation of operating rooms and providing assistance to patients in critical conditions.

However, several problems were also highlighted. In particular, there was talk of a shortage of specialists in the regions, a high workload on current doctors, and the need to improve training and develop a system of continuous medical education.

Issues related to the provision of medical devices were also discussed. Specialists noted that while some medical institutions have modern equipment, part of it requires maintenance or is not used properly due to a lack of consumables or insufficient staff qualifications.

Additionally, the participants of the meeting emphasized the need to enhance the efficiency of monitoring the work of resuscitation departments, improve the reporting system, and provide technical support for medical equipment.

Damir Osmonov noted that the development of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service is a key direction in the healthcare system, as it is responsible for treating the most severe patients and supporting surgical assistance.

As a result of the meeting, the minister issued a number of instructions to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health: to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the staffing of the anesthesiology and resuscitation service in the regions and prepare proposals for improving the qualifications of specialists; to ensure control over the effective use of high-tech medical equipment in institutions; and to strengthen monitoring of the work of resuscitation and intensive care units.
