Deputy Erulan Kokulov addressed President Sadyr Japarov with a complaint that the level of respect for parliamentarians has decreased. In his opinion, some ministers show disrespect by making deputies wait in their offices.
“We appeal to ministers not for personal interests, but to convey the problems that concern the people,” noted Kokulov.
In response, the president stated that respect for deputies primarily depends on their own behavior and the issues they raise.
“If you have low authority, it is not related to the ministers or to me. It depends on you. By asking insignificant questions, you undermine your own respect in front of the people. To earn respect, you must act at a high level,” emphasized Japarov.
Furthermore, the president urged ministers to receive deputies without an appointment, provided that they do not come with personal issues: “If a deputy comes with such a question, send him back,” he added.
