On March 14, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with Raffaele Chiulli, who is the president of the International Union of Motorboating (UIM). During the negotiations, the prospects for cooperation and the possibility of organizing competitions under the auspices of UIM in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
As noted by the press service of the administration, the head of state emphasized the significance of UIM's readiness to hold the World Championship in Kyrgyzstan. This event is of particular importance against the backdrop of the country's active development of international cooperation in the fields of sports, tourism, and the organization of major events.
Sadyr Japarov also pointed out the presence of two international airports in the Issyk-Kul region — in Karakol and Tamchy, which welcome tourists. Construction of five-star and seven-star hotels continues along the shores of the lake.
Raffaele Chiulli, in turn, noted that the World Cup represents the largest festival of motorboating, including the World Championship in royal boat racing in the F1H2O class, as well as demonstration races in jet skiing, motor surfing, and hydro-flyboarding.
He added that previous competitions were held in countries such as China, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and others, emphasizing that water racing is one of the most spectacular sports, with broadcasts watched in over 86 countries, reaching a total audience of more than 900 million viewers.
At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov and Raffaele Chiulli expressed hope that holding the UIM F1H2O World Cup in Central Asia would not only provide an opportunity to showcase the tourist potential of Issyk-Kul but also serve as an effective tool for promoting the national brand on the global stage.
