At the meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh, the draft law "On Amendments to the Law on the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh" was considered and received approval in the first reading.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev was the initiator of this draft law.
He emphasized that the purpose of the amendments is to clarify Article 33 of the Law on the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh. In particular, the project aims to clearly define the types of activities permissible for deputies, in addition to their main work, as well as to eliminate the risks of unlawful deprivation of mandate due to uncertainty in the interpretation of the concepts of "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities.
In addition, the committee supported other draft laws, such as "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes," as well as "On Amendments to the Law on Guarantees of the President's Activities and the Status of the Former President," which were considered in the third reading.
