Today, March 17, the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on constitutional legislation, local self-government, state structure, and regulations reviewed the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic'" and approved it in the first reading.

The initiator of the draft law is Deputy Dastan Bekeshev.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev emphasized that the amendments concern Article 33 of the law "On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic." He noted that the draft law aims to clearly define the types of activities that are permissible for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in addition to their main work, excluding the risks of unjust deprivation of deputies' mandates due to ambiguities in the interpretation of the terms "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities.

The committee also reviewed and approved the draft laws "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic," as well as "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Guarantees of the Activities of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Status of the Ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic'" in the third reading.

The record of the amendments to the law on the status of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh received approval in the first reading of the parliamentary committee first appeared on K-News.
