In Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, cultural events are taking place dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the famous writer Chingiz Aitmatov. This information was announced by the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy.

The events are organized by the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov, which presented the ethno-musical "Raymaly and Begimai" and the musical "Jamila," based on the works of the writer, on the stage of the Kazakh National Musical Drama Theater named after Kalibek Kuanyshbaev.

These events are taking place with the support of President Sadyr Japarov and in accordance with the decree on the celebration of the anniversary.

On March 17, the audience witnessed the performance of the ethno-musical "Raymaly and Begimai," and the performance of the musical "Jamila" is scheduled for March 18.

High-ranking officials present at the ceremonial events included the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Arslan Koichiev, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Nurbek Sayasat, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Kyrgyzstan Marat Tagaev, as well as the son of the writer Eldar Aitmatov and representatives of the cultural community of both countries.
