During a meeting of the committee on labor, health care, women's affairs, and social issues, Deputy Zhyldyz Egemberdieva discussed the processing times for mandatory health insurance (MHI). She noted that citizens without this insurance are forced to wait at least five days for its processing.
Egemberdieva asked the director of FOMS about the possibility of reducing this timeframe.
“If a person needs to be urgently hospitalized but does not have MHI, they risk waiting five days, which could worsen their condition. Is there a possibility to do this in one day?” she inquired.
The head of FOMS, Azamat Mukhanov, responded that previously the processing took much longer.
“Currently, the minimum timeframe is five days. First, the funds are deposited in the bank, then the next day the bank transfers them to us, after which processing occurs. Moreover, it is important to take care of your health in advance. If treatment is planned, it is advisable to arrange insurance five days before the date of the request,” he explained.
