The Ministry of Health plans to open ambulance stations in the southern part of Bishkek

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with labor, health, women's affairs, and social policy, Deputy Jylgyz Egemberdieva emphasized the need to improve the accessibility and responsiveness of emergency medical services.

She noted that to optimize the work of the ambulance service, digital technologies similar to those used in taxi services should be implemented.

“In modern taxi applications, routes are predetermined, which makes their use convenient. At the same time, it is often difficult to reach the service by calling 103, and ambulance teams frequently arrive late,” the deputy stressed.

Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov responded by noting that the problems faced by the ambulance service are a result of broader systemic challenges in healthcare.

“Currently, the ministry is developing measures to improve the situation. In the southern part of the city, the opening of 4-5 new ambulance stations is planned, and negotiations are also underway to purchase new vehicles. We are experiencing a severe shortage of cars, and although they actively monitor the city, it is not enough due to the increasing population,” he added.

According to the deputy minister, this year the Ministry of Health intends to take concrete steps to address the existing problems in emergency medical services.
