At a recent meeting of the regional board in the Naryn region, the discussion of the rising incidence of cancer became one of the central issues, causing serious concern among the participants.

As mentioned at the meeting, the number of new cancer cases in the region is increasing, with 337 new cases registered in the past year.

Currently, there are 1,956 people with cancer diagnoses registered in the region. Experts note that this situation poses a serious threat to public health, highlighting the need for improved early diagnosis and preventive measures.

Participants of the board also discussed the issue of providing the population with medications. There are 13 pharmacies and 37 pharmacy points operating in the region; however, there is a shortage of both pharmacies and points of sale for medications in the Naryn district, which raises particular concern.

Meeting participants noted that this issue had already been raised in the report for the past 9 months but remains unresolved. They emphasized the need for urgent measures from local and state authorities to ensure the availability of medications for the population.
