The head of the National Oncology Center reported whether the number of patients is increasing in the country

In Kyrgyzstan, attention is being focused on the early diagnosis of oncological diseases. This was reported by Nurbek Bukuev, head of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology, during the broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol" by the Kabar agency.

He noted that overall, the incidence statistics remain stable.

“The population of the country was about 5 million in 2008, and now it exceeds 7 million. With the growth of the population, the number of patients is also increasing. This observation corresponds to global statistics and pertains not only to oncological diseases but also to other diseases,” he added.

Bukuev also refuted rumors about the ineffective work of the Oncology Center.

“According to the data from the Statistics Committee, the incidence rate has not increased. The indicators from previous years remain at the same level. However, the conditions for diagnosis have changed, allowing for diseases to be detected at earlier stages. This creates the illusion of an increasing number of patients. Currently, we are focused on the early detection of diseases, which is our main goal,” he explained.
