The healthcare budget in Kyrgyzstan has doubled over 5 years — Baisalov

Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov spoke at a republican meeting in "Yntymak Ordo," where he shared information about significant changes in the healthcare sector over the past four years.

He noted that the consolidated healthcare budget increased from 26.3 billion soms in 2021 to 51.9 billion soms in 2025, which represents a doubling of funding.

Funding for the purchase of expensive medications and medical products has increased 14 times.

Special attention in the reforms is given to supporting medical personnel and developing infrastructure. Next year, about 1 billion soms is planned to be allocated for additional payments to doctors in the regions.

In the past year, the construction of 10 new healthcare facilities has been completed, and a total of 21 facilities have been built from 2021 to 2025. Currently, work is ongoing on 32 large medical complexes.

There has also been significant progress in the field of high-tech medicine. In 2024, 24 organ transplant surgeries were performed in the country, and in 2025, this number increased to 26, including complex kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants.

It is worth noting that the republican meeting in "Yntymak Ordo" summarized the results of 2025 with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.

The meeting also included members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of various state agencies, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims.
