The Ministry of Health initiates amendments to the law after the death of an infant at the hands of a healer

A tragic incident occurred in the Osh region, in the Uzgen district — a two-month-old infant died after a hijama procedure performed by a local healer. This was reported by Aman Osmonov, head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, on the program "Elden Sobol" of the Kabar agency.

According to Osmonov, amendments to the legislation aimed at tightening control over illegal medical practices are currently being developed. He emphasized that mere prohibitions are insufficient to solve the problem.

“Despite any restrictions, people continue to turn to such healers, guided by faith, hope, or the influence of well-known personalities,” he noted, adding that a change in public consciousness is required.
In connection with this incident, law enforcement agencies have begun an investigation.

We remind you that the parents of the baby turned to a folk healer, who made incisions on the child's back. After this procedure, the infant began to bleed profusely.

The child was urgently taken to the hospital, but his condition was critical: the hemoglobin level dropped to 45. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the infant could not be saved and died in the morning hours.
